Minister of State Alan Dillon, responsible for Small Businesses and Retail at the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, has announced the launch of the Excellence in Collective Bargaining Award. This new category is part of the CIPD in Ireland HR Awards 2027, aimed at acknowledging organisations that excel in fostering effective collective bargaining, constructive social dialogue, and meaningful engagement between employers, employees, and their representatives.
The introduction of this award follows the release of Ireland’s first Action Plan to Promote Collective Bargaining in November 2025. The plan includes measures to support and promote best practices in collective bargaining, reflecting the Government’s commitment to enhancing workplace partnerships and industrial relations. Minister Dillon emphasised the importance of collective bargaining in creating fair, productive, and sustainable workplaces, highlighting its role in improving pay, working conditions, productivity, and economic resilience.
Eligible organisations are encouraged to enter the competition to showcase their achievements in positive workplace collaboration. Entries open on 26 August 2026, with the awards ceremony scheduled for 5 March 2027 at the Mansion House in Dublin. Further details and entry guidelines are available through the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in Ireland, the professional body promoting excellence in human resources and people development.
