Final release of starter homes at Oscar Traynor Woods
Dublin City Council has announced that eligible applicants can apply from 23 September to 14 October 2026 for the final release of 95 starter homes for sale at Oscar Traynor Woods in Coolock, Dublin 17. This phase includes 28 one-bedroom, 48 two-bedroom, and 19 three-bedroom apartments available at an average 22% discount off market value. The homes, scheduled for occupation in 2027, form part of a wider project delivering 850 A-rated homes through a partnership between Dublin City Council, Glenveagh, and Clúid Housing.

The Oscar Traynor Woods development is designed as a mixed-tenure community with homes to buy or rent under the Starter Homes Programme alongside social housing. The site features new parks, community spaces, a multi-use games area, and retail and commercial facilities to encourage a sustainable lifestyle and foster community well-being. Through the Starter Home Purchase Scheme, the council assists households in bridging the gap between mortgage deposit and market value via an equity share arrangement, with monthly repayments varying according to household income.

Applications must be submitted online at https://affordablehomes.dublincity.ie/ from midday on 23 September until midday on 14 October 2026. Further details about the scheme and development are available at www.oscartraynorwoods.ie. Lord Mayor Daryl Barron and other officials praised the project’s collaborative approach and its significance in providing affordable, high-quality homes that support long-term community growth and social inclusion.
