Meath County Council has officially ordered the temporary closure of Local Road L-6836-0 in Cortown, Kells. The restriction will affect the section between its junctions with L-6835-34 and L-80021-0, necessitating careful route planning for local commuters.
This closure is mandated to facilitate the laying of electric ducts, a critical infrastructure upgrade for the area. The works are scheduled to commence at 7am on Monday, 19 October 2026, and are set to conclude at 7pm on Friday, 20 November 2026.
Motorists are advised to follow diversion signs directing traffic via L-6835-34, the R164, and L-6836. While the road will be closed to general traffic, local access will be facilitated throughout the duration of the project.
