Cavan County Council has announced the opening of applications for the Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF) for 2026. This programme is designed to provide financial support to community groups and local organisations undertaking projects that benefit the environment. The fund seeks to encourage active participation in preserving and enhancing the natural heritage of County Cavan.
Eligible projects typically focus on areas such as habitat restoration, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and environmental education. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate how their proposed activities will create a lasting positive impact on local ecosystems and community engagement. The council emphasises the importance of sustainability and long-term environmental stewardship in all submissions.
Those interested in applying are advised to visit the official Cavan County Council website for detailed guidelines and application forms. The submission process requires a clear outline of project objectives, budget, and expected outcomes. Residents and group leaders are urged to act promptly to ensure their proposals are considered for this year’s funding round.
