Children invited to envision tomorrow through national art competition

Norma Foley has launched a creative competition asking youngsters to paint their dreams for society. The inspiring initiative marks twenty years of a major national study listening to youth.

Children invited to envision tomorrow through national art competition
Young creators nationwide have been invited to pick up their paintbrushes and sketch their ultimate vision of the nation's future in an imaginative new nationwide contest. Minister Norma Foley officially opened the doors to the creative challenge, which specifically welcomes participants aged four to fifteen to express their unique hopes and aspirations through visual art.

This vibrant initiative coincides with two decades of the Growing Up in Ireland study, a landmark longitudinal project that has consistently amplified youth perspectives to shape national policy. By channelling their inner artists, children can contribute directly to this milestone celebration while showcasing their extraordinary talents to a wider audience.

The overall victor will earn the prestigious honour of having their masterpiece featured within a brand new permanent collection displayed proudly at Miesian Plaza in Dublin. Full submission guidelines and entry forms are accessible on the official website, with all final pieces required to be submitted before midday on Friday, 23 October 2026.
