Water supply restored after Rathfarnham emergency repairs
Water supply was restored early this morning to customers in South Dublin after emergency repairs were completed on a significant water main in Rathfarnham.

Uisce Éireann teams worked through the night from 8pm until around 6am to fix the burst pipe, impacting areas including Rathfarnham, Terenure, Milltown, Rathgar, Dartry, Kimmage, Rathmines, and Harolds Cross. Water pressure interruptions and temporary outages were experienced during the repair period.

Keith Conmy, Water Operations Manager at Uisce Éireann, expressed gratitude to the local community for their patience during the unplanned outage. He noted that while most properties would have sufficient stored water for hygiene purposes during the disruption, customers at the network’s extremities or higher elevations might have experienced extended restoration times as the system recharged. Customers are encouraged to register as vulnerable or alternative contacts via the Uisce Éireann website to receive direct updates on future outages. Multiple communication channels remain active, including real-time text alerts and customer care helplines, ensuring ongoing information throughout maintenance work.
