A tragic road traffic collision occurred on Monday afternoon, 12 October 2026, on the N2 just north of the Ashbourne-Rath Roundabout in County Meath. The crash involved a truck and a car, and resulted in the death of the car’s driver, a man in his sixties, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a man in his forties, escaped uninjured. The deceased’s body was subsequently taken to the mortuary in Navan as part of the formal post-mortem procedures. Gardaí have launched an appeal for anyone who was in the area between 3:00pm and 3:45pm to come forward with any information.
