Gardaí have launched an investigation following a tragic road traffic collision that occurred on Connaught Street in Athboy, Co. Meath, during the early hours of Sunday, 20th September 2026. The driver, a man in his fifties and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was fatally injured in the collision. His remains were subsequently transported to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
